Care Tips for Money Plant

Watering

The money plant requires frequent watering as it also draws nutrition from water. Make sure to water it thoroughly as the roots for this plant go deep. Check to see if the water has come out of the drainage hole.  If the money plant is in water, then it is very important to change the water on a weekly basis. 


Light

Sunlight affects the Money Plant very much. It is a shade-loving plant and does well in spaces where there is diffused or indirect sunlight. If placing indoors, then make sure to bring out the plant in semi-shade and ventilation once every week for at least a day.


Placement

The money plant must be placed in a shaded area that receives indirect sunlight or diffused light. The plant also does well in a well-ventilated area.


Fertilisation

The Money plant is a hardy independent plant and requires very little care. You can add vermicompost to the plant every 3- 4 months. Avoid fertilization during extreme cold or hot weather conditions. The plant also loves doses of seaweed extract


Ideal Soil Mix

The Money plant requires well-draining and porous soil. The ideal soil mix for the plant is Cocopeat (50%) + Garden Soil (30%) + Vermicompost (20%). 


Pruning

It is necessary to keep pruning and cutting the money plant as it will help make the plant bushier and encourage branch growth. Once the pruning is done, you can plant the cuttings in a pot, and the aerial roots will take hold and a new plant will form. 


Pest Control 

The Money Plant is a hardy plant and is not very prone to pest attacks. However, spraying the plant with neem oil spray will be a good precautionary measure.
